Why You Should At Least Consider Frozen Fruits

There is a saying that “An Apple A Day, Keeps that Doctor Away”. While this isn’t set in store, but it is important for everyone to at least visit a board-certified doctor at least more than once in their lifetime. But the quote does hold some truth to it, and that fruits & vegetables are good for you.

So when it comes to eating your fruits and veggies, oftentimes, we seek out the freshest produce. Only for some of them to end up spoiling, inside the fridge. In addition, not all fruits and veggies are available all year round. So frozen alternatives might be your best option.

So here are advantages  when it comes to Frozen vs. Fresh.

  1. Reduced prep time – Unlike fresh fruits, frozen fruits are already prepared and washed for you. If you are a little bit skeptical, you can wash it again. But frozen fruits are ready for consumption. Thus saving you time and hassle when it comes to meal prepping, cooking, baking, and even cleaning up. So you can enjoy your peach pie or yogurt with fruits in no time.

  1. Still retains its freshness – Frozen fruits are picked at their freshest or at their peak. Meaning they are flash freeze the moment after they are washed and cleaned. Reducing the amount and time it takes for the essential minerals and nutrients to break down. As compared to fresh fruits that may not be eaten right away.

  1. Loss of Nutrients, Both in fresh and frozen produce – The moment they are plucked out from their branch or removed from the soil, nutrients will start to decline. It is all about a matter of time of preservation and consumption that determines the number of nutrients and minerals that will be reaching the body. So it’s best to consume fresh produce right away. Or if you plan to consume it later, maybe saving it up for future use. It’s best to just stick to frozen versions.
